PS. We've recently changed the way that you leave messages with us, due to an abhorrent amount of spam messages left in the guest book, we are now requiring that you verify your post via your email account. We apologize greatly for this added step you need to take to post a message to us, but thank you immensely for taking the time (and extra step) to send us a message.
Thinking of you always, and praying unceasingly! Merry Christmas, Tyson Family!
Another verse I came across that brought me strength and I hope it does the same for you:
"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still" Exodus 14:14
praying that you may have strength and peace in the stillness.
I write this praying blessings upon you and your family not only this time of year but in these given circumstances. Mother to mother I share with you both my love and strength, reciprocating that which you gave in getting my girls here. If ever you need support be it emotional or mental or even spiritual please don't overlook my family.
love always
Jerica
Dr. Tyson,
I found my way to your blog via a Facebook post by a high school friend who is a L&D nurse at St Mary's. I had seen that you were on leave from VWC when I tried to make an appointment, but did not know why.
I am so sorry to hear about the trials you and your family have been going through, but loved reading the last post's, "I told you so." I hope Callen has many more "I told you so" moments.
You and your family are in our thoughts.
-Laura & Christina (moms to Katie)
Dear Dr. Tyson and family,
I woke up this morning thinking about you and your family. I'm sending you energy, peace and gratitude this morning!
I think about the day you delivered my daughter often because your face was such a relief to me. I had spent the night laboring with an on-call doctor (who I think had settled on a c-section). Just stopping in to check on me as you arrived to the hospital in the early morning, you swooped in, knees on the delivery table, and hands working to untangle my baby -- and there was my Lily! I had full trust in you and now you are an important part of Lily's story forever.
I hope you feel the support of your quiet, but very sincere cheerleaders!
Meghan, mother of Lily (delivered on 1/23/2012)
Dear Team Callen-
I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am to hear of Callen's diagnosis. Please know that your entire family are in my thoughts and prayers. Katie, you are truly a gifted writer. I found myself smiling through my tears as I was reading your journal entries. Sincerely, Deidre Belcher
Katie and Jim,
I just want you to know that we continue to pray for sweet Callen. We formed a prayer circle for you today at work. We love you and miss you so much. Callen will fight this--no doubt! After all, he IS superhero strong!! Praying for health, strength and comfort for all.
Much love,
Lauraa
Dear Team Callen,
We are praying for you all and sending so much love and light. Dr. Tyson, on July 27, 2013 you delivered my sweet Annabelle and saved my life and her life in the process. The honesty, kindness and hope that you share on this website are nothing short of inspiring. If there is absolutely anything that we can do, please let us know.

Dr. Tyson,

Dr. Tyson and family,
I wanted to stop by and send you my regards and thoughts during this difficult time. During one of my recent prenatal checkups at VWC, Nurse Compton gave me an update that treament is going well.
Jaxon (delivered 12/28/12 by Dr. Tyson) and I include Callen in our prayers every night. I can only imagine how strong and brave he is going through this. And for you all to be fighting daily for him is amazing! I know the love that he has from his family and friends will go so far as he battles this awful disease and kicks it to the curb. My sister in law's younger brother had ALL as a child and is now a happy, healthy OR nurse helping heal others. I pray and hope Callen's story will end just as succesfully.
Please keep writing!
With love,
Laura Hurdelbrink

Dr. Tyson,
I have been praying for your sweet boy and family ever since I found out about Callen earlier this year, and had hoped there would be a way for me to reach out one day. Luckily, today while at VWC, one of your great nurses told me about this awesome site where you have so amazingly and bravely shared Team Callen's story. Your words convey your emotions so strongly; thank you for making me both laugh and cry, and more importantly for letting me know how we can help. Sending lots of love and strength to my favorite doc and her family:)~

Dr. Tyson,
I heard through the grapevine about Callen's diagnosis a few months ago, but had no idea there was a website until I went in for a consult the other day. I'm sending prayers and thoughts to you and your family daily, and I'm so thankful to see that Callen is getting some success after such hard work this summer. Missing your smiling face! Will be keeping up with the blog and you can bet you'll see me at any Team Callen events in the future.
All my best,
Carter Avery Morrison
Callen, Katie (Dr. Tyson), & Family,
Just wanted to drop in and let you know I think of and pray for you often. I hope your walk goes well tomorrow, we wish we could be there. Jackson had his first birthday recently and I am all the more thankful for his health in the past year - I know that despite our efforts as parents to keep our children safe and healthy, their future can forever be changed in an instant. Callen, I hope your kicking Lou Kee-mia's tail!!
Hugs to all!

Update: I 'd told my coworker about Dr. Tyson's (GYN) son having Leukemia yesterday. A few minutes ago, I was telling her how I tied it to my ENT office. When I mentioned Dr. Tyson's (ENT) name, she said "Wait a minute! That's my doctor! He's the one who did my sinus surgery!" Circle of medicine getting smaller and smaller...Small world!
The small circle of medicine...A few months ago, I was getting my allergy shot at VA ENT on Mayland Drive, and the staff there were wearing Team Callen tshirts. I asked what it was about and they said that one of the doctor's on staff had a son who was diagnosed with Leukemia. Fast forward, yesterday, I tried to make an appt with my GYN, Katie Tyson, and was told that she wasn't seeing patients right now. When I inquired as to why, I was told that her son had Leukemia. I immediately had tears in my eyes because I remember her telling stories about her son during my visits and I have loved her as a doctor and person every since I first started seeing her. This morning, I was talking to my clinical study nurse, Christie, because I wanted to see if I could get an appt with her since I couldn't see Dr. Tyson. She again, mention how Dr. Tyson wasn't seeing patients. I asked how her son was doing and Christie said he was doing better. She talked about the different things that had been done in support of the Tyson family and Team Callen and how Dr. Tyson had a blog talking about the journey. I said "Her son is like 4 or 5, right?" and Christie said "I think so. His name is Callen." I immediately thought back to a few months ago and the Team Callen tshirts at Va ENT. So I looked up the other doctors there and saw they had a James Tyson. Definitely couldn't be a coincedence! James Tyson at my ENT office and Katie Tyson, my GYN were the parents of Callen! So I googled Team Callen and found this blog. I'm sorry to ramble, but I just wanted to tell the whole story of how I got here, and how I wish I had known sooner so I could have participated in some of the activities. I've read from the blog that he's doing good and it looks like he's going to beat this thing. Yeeeaaahhhh Callen! Dr. Tyson, I am soooo sorry that you and your family are going through this and you will definitely be in my continious prayers and thoughts. I'm sure it's very difficult having another small child to take care of as well. It seems like you have a great support system and you seem to be taking all of this really well. If you need me to take care of that yellow purse I've been trying to get, I can hold it for you until you get through all of this. LOL! :-)
