I have done very little reading on the topic of leukemia since receiving Callen’s diagnosis. I have resisted the temptation to surf the Internet. We all know where a Google search leads…no matter the symptom queried, the endpoint is the same: cancer. So with cancer as the starting point, it has seemed a wise choice to not consult Dr. Google on any such related matters.
We have just completed day 22 of a 28-day induction regiment. This intense first month has thus far involved five chemotherapeutic agents, countless blood tests, 2 bone marrow biopsies and 2 spinal taps. It will culminate next week with an extravaganza of tests and procedures used to gauge initial treatment response.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

The second Booster Campaign finished earlier today after exceding the goal of 500 shirts. In total, 640 shirts were sold (584 the first round and 56 the second round) and an additional $2,520 was raised in addition to the proceeds from the shirts. We can't thank everyone enough.
Callen will be so excited to see everyone wearing "his" shirts once you get them.

As many of you know, I’ve shared in the privilege of parenting Matthew and Julia since they were barely older than Olivia and Callen are now.
Not long after we all moved in together, we had our first family meeting. My stomach churned as we took our seats in front of the fireplace. I began some nervous chatter about the past few weeks and the many changes it had brought to their young lives. As newlyweds at the helm of a newly-blended family, we posed our questions: How did they feel? What were their worries? Was there anything they wanted to change moving forward?
